3D Photos - Rocks At The Beach

This is the left image of a stereo pair available at FinePix REAL 3D W3 sample 3D image & movies. Thanks Fuji!
This is the depth map obtained with Depth Map Automatic Generator (DMAG) using the default settings (number of scales = 0, downsampling factor = .75, smoothing parameter = 18).
Here's an animated 3D gif made up of (5) frames produced by Frame Sequence Generator (FSG).

  1. Sorry for my bad English. I did a test with your software DMAG but has crashed 2 times on a PC with W7 64 bit. There are bugs and also believe that your project is not very usable. I purchased Triaxes Stereo Tracer and I think that is the best absolute. Automatic generation (or manual) depth maps is a very complex and requires very thorough knowledge. I wish that one day you can write a good software and with interface that incorporates all the features, rather than separating them into three modules.

    1. Your English is quite excellent, Pino. Thanks for trying the software and letting me know what you think about it. Feedback is always useful, good or bad.

  2. I don't think it's fair to compare free software (such as on this site) with commercial software developed by paid engineers.

All efforts to make 3D image processing capabilities more accessible to hobbyists and professionals alike should be welcomed.

    1. Thanks Tom for the comment but it's fair enough to me, no problem.

  3. I can't understand input parameters and how they affect output. Any tutorial?
